This Personal
Choice Issues Directory is evolving to assist the efforts of
the Personal Choice Cause.
-
The original Issues
Directory can be found by following the link shown in the
column to the right. It primarily focused on issues
addressed by PC Party of Utah candidates for the 2004
elections. About 35 issues are listed in that directory.
-
A 2005-2006 Issues
Directory will become available for Personal Choicers in
Utah who announce their intent to seek an office over the
next couple of years. If this applies to you, please let us
know.
-
As Personal Choice
obtains ballot status elsewhere, Issues Directories will
become available for those locations as well. If this
applies to you, please let us know.
Attention all
Personal Choicers!
If you consider
yourself a Personal Choicer, whether you are considering
running for office or not, and would like to express yourself
about an issue with an issue statement, this site would like
to try to establish a Personal Choicer's Issues Directory for
your participation.
Though this project would not start off being automated
online, if participation is sufficient and appropriate and
well received, it will probably become automated.
Let's get it started and
give it a try with these following guidelines:
-
Your content must be
appropriate for a general audience for it to be accepted for
posting here. All materials submitted will be reviewed;
unless, of course, this project becomes overwhelmed by those
interested in participating, in which case this project will
be restructured, discontinued, or saved for when available
resources can respond better to the project. This
site retains the right to post or not to post any materials
you submit. Please note, your personal choice of how you
wish to express yourself is not what guides this site's
determination of acceptance. This site must abide by the
terms of its hosting service in order to maintain its
presence on the internet, and consequently, in order to
assist the efforts of the Personal Choice Cause.
-
The actual text of your
issue statement should be contained in a simple ascii text
document from a program such as Microsoft Notepad. If your
content is accepted, it will be copy/pasted into a web page
from this text document. Formatting is not particularly
important, but please refrain from using tabs to indent your
material.
-
Your content will not be
spelling or grammar checked. You are responsible for the
correctness of the materials you submit, though some
instances may become automatically changed within the
software being used.
-
Length is somewhat
flexible, as long as this site is able to provide adequate
space. (This is determined primarily from available funding
resources, such as what may be available from the efforts of
the PC-PAC and
its
Online Store.) For now, let's try to keep the length to
about 1,000 words or less.
-
Digital images may be
included with what you submit, but please, only provide the
following for consideration, and only if you wish to:
-- one image of yourself.
-- one image relevant to your issue statement.
-- any logo relevant to your issue statement.
Please keep your images small. An image of yourself or any
logo will probably only be around 150x150 pixels online, or
smaller. An image relevant to your issue statement may vary,
but the fewer bytes the better, and any outrageously huge
image material will be promptly disposed of to maintain this
site's web space resources.
-
Copyrights of any
material you submit, whether it's text, images, or
otherwise, that does not belong to you, at least, as best as
this site might ascertain, will not be accepted unless you
provide acceptable authorization from the copyright holders.
You are responsible for any inappropriate copyright
infringements and this site will not accept liability and
will remove any inappropriate material promptly, which is
also in accordance with this site's agreement with its
hosting provider.
-
Submit all your issue
statement materials and information in an
email to this site as follows:
-- Show "PC Issue Statement Submission" in the subject line.
-- Provide the following information in the body of the
email message:
-- an identifying name for you.
-- contact info you would like shown on your page.
-- the city (or county), and the state you reside in.
(your general location
will be on your page)
-- the date your issue statement was authored.
-- the specific subject of your statement, if needed.
-- the general issue you feel you are addressing.
-- complete web addresses for online material referred
to in your issue statement, as well as the title of the page
where the web address connects. Links will be established where
functional, reasonable, practical, and relevant. Excessive
linkage might be discouraging to those getting this done,
though, so please be considerate.
-- Attach simple text document and images to email.
-- Send the email.
-
If your issue statement
materials are accepted, they will be posted as soon as
possible, but there is no guarantee of how long it might
take. This is heavily dependent on the available abilities
and resources of this site. Your patience, when needed, is
appreciated.
-
These guidelines are
subject to revision when necessary and without notice.
Please refer to these guidelines just prior to submitting
your materials.
If issue statement
material is provided by anyone and return communication by
this site to the email address used to provide the material
does not function, or there is no response in a timely,
appropriate manner, the material will not be accepted. If
you choose, you may provide clearly defined private contact
information in your email to this site (such as an alternate
email, or a phone number). This private information will
only be used for this site to communicate with you, if
necessary, and will not be provided to anyone else without
your permission, unless lawfully requested by appropriate
authorities.
An Issues Directory for
candidates seeking election certainly seems appropriate. This
project to develop a Personal Choicer's Issues Directory for
all of you who consider yourself to be a Personal Choicer
whether you are considering running for office or not, though,
is thought to be a challenge worth attempting. Such a
directory could become invaluable to everyone who considers
themselves to be Personal Choicers, as well as to those
wishing to explore the parameters of what others feel Personal
Choice is all about. How this project evolves depends on those
of you who choose to participate. This site offers no
guarantees, but is hopeful of the attempt, and will do its
best for this project.
Thank you!

Forum Community
A community of forums to discuss matters of Personal Choice has been
created. It hasn't been put through any significant testing, but we're
going to invite you to visit it, become involved where you choose to, and
see if it will cooperate okay. If not, we'll try something else. So, for
now, if you've got the itch to get after it, go for it! We'll try to
manage it and adjust it as we go along as best we can keep up with what
you do. Enjoy!
